Once again I am going to write to you about a movie that my wife and I enjoyed recently. This time we were accompanied by our two beautiful daughters, Erin & Julie Anna. Being outnumbered by my female counterparts, I succumbed once again to their persuasion.

The movie: “My Sister’s Keeper”. Just a side note (I am very emotional).

Yeah, yeah, I know. I’m not standing up for my rights when it comes to movie selections, but stay with me, I have a point that matches the title “Freedom At Home“.

In the movie trailer below, you will realize that “My Sister’s Keeper” is about a family who has a sick child. Actually, a dying child. She has leukemia. Their whole lives become consumed with keeping her alive.

As I was watching their struggle, and believe me, it was gut-wrenching, I thought how fortunate that this fictional family had the power and resources to choose that the mom would quit her job and choose freedom at home, and take care of their daughter.

Now, I am not saying there is anything “fortunate” about anyone’s child having cancer, but I am saying that if the unthinkable were to happen, my wife and I have freedom at home because of my home based business. We would be here for our child 24/7 and I am very thankful for this privilege.

In one of the closing scenes, the sick child gives her mom a scrap-book of their family and their lives together. My point is… they were all there. In every picture, there was the mom, the dad, the brother and the two sisters. No one was missing.

How about you? are you in your family’s scrap-book? Thankfully, my home-based-business allows me to have freedom at home. The dinners, the ball games, the special occasions, I am there, I am not missing, and this is a freedom that I do not take lightly.

This is a movie I am sure you would enjoy very much. Be sure and take some tissue if you are a softy like me.
